Dr Andreas Daugsch, PhD, was born in Lüneburg, Germany. He studied chemistry and food chemistry at the University of Hamburg under the guidance of Prof Dr Dr Hans Steinhart and graduated in 2001. Passionate about traveling and always interested in new cultures, he soon moved to Brazil, where he came in contact with Brazilian Green Propolis for the first time. Fascinated by the complexity of this natural bee product, he did his PhD about Propolis and its chemical composition and physiological properties. Throughout his studies he was under the scientific leadership of Professor Dr Yong Kun Park, PhD, MD at the Unicamp University in Campinas, Brazil.
Dr Andreas Daugsch is author and co-author of various articles in well-known international journals such as “Suppressive effects of ethanolic extracs from propolis and its main botanical origin on dioxin toxicity” in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry 2005, 53(26):10306-9. He is a member of the advisory board of the German apitherapy association and a frequent speaker on several congresses.
